House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has condemned the indictment of former President Donald Trump by left-wing New York DA Alvin Bragg, rebuking Bragg’s “weaponization of the federal justice process.”
McCarthy also promised that Bragg will be “held accountable by Congress.”
“Alvin Bragg is attempting to interfere in our democratic process by invoking federal law to bring politicized charges against President Trump, admittedly using federal funds, while at the same time arguing that the peoples’ representatives in Congress lack jurisdiction to investigate this farce,” McCarthy said. “Not so. Bragg’s weaponization of the federal justice process will be held accountable by Congress.”

The official GOP Twitter account also put out a statement, which noted, “Bragg is using his powers to pursue a political prosecution while letting violent criminals off the hook. It seems the only ‘serious criminal conduct’ Bragg believes in prosecuting is the ‘crime’ of being a Republican.”

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden responded to the news that his predecessor in the White House and current political rival Donald Trump has been indicted on 34 charges with laughter and a beaming smile.
“Is the indictment of your predecessor politically divisive?” one reporter could be heard asking the president on Tuesday.
In response, Biden broke into a wide smile and began laughing, as his aides began yelling for reporters to leave the room.
In a last video message to his supporters before his arrest, 45th President Donald Trump declared America was now a “third world country.”
The former President was formally arrested and indicted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg over the manner “hush money” was processed while Trump was allegedly victim to an extortion scheme in 2016 on Tuesday afternoon.
Speaking in a video posted to Truth Social on Sunday, Trump said that America was now “officially a third world country. No president in the history of our country has been subjected to such vicious and disgusting attacks. But they only attack me because I fight for you. It’s very simple. They can’t buy me and they can’t control me, and that scares them beyond belief.”
