U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan unveiled a plan to hold a House Judiciary Committee “field hearing” on the policies of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg at his home turf of Lower Manhattan in New York.
Though Jordan is part of the House effort to hold Bragg accountable for what they describe as the politically motivated indictment of 45th President Donald Trump, his April 17 field hearing will focus on the victims of Bragg’s policies, which are generally soft on violent criminals.
“Alvin Bragg’s pro-crime, anti-victim policies have led to an increase in violent crime in New York City,” noted Jordan on Twitter. “Next week, the Judiciary Committee will examine these policies during a field hearing in Manhattan.”

According to Media Right News, this latest development comes only days after Jordan issued a subpoena to former New York County Special Assistant District Attorney Mark Pomerantz, demanding he appear before the committee after a voluntary appearance was refused.
Pomerantz is expected to be questioned about Bragg’s unprecedented indictment of Trump, which is the first indictment of a former president in U.S. history.
In response, Bragg claimed that the House is attempting “to undermine an active investigation” and urged the Republican attempts at oversight of his indictment to end.
While Bragg has generally remained defiant, his enemies in Congress now reach as high as House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who promised Bragg will “be held accountable” for his “politicized charges against President Trump” on the day Trump’s indictment was unsealed.
“Alvin Bragg is attempting to interfere in our democratic process by invoking federal law to bring politicized charges against President Trump, admittedly using federal funds, while at the same time arguing that the peoples’ representatives in Congress lack jurisdiction to investigate this farce,” McCarthy said. “Not so. Bragg’s weaponization of the federal justice process will be held accountable by Congress.”
