A Connecticut man who died by suicide on Tuesday is revealed to be Tim Yergeau, a former director for Planned Parenthood who had apparently learned he was the subject of a child porn investigation only days before his death.
Yergeau took his own life only five days after New Haven Police mistakenly raided his neighbor’s apartment in an attempt to arrest him for child pornography. Apparently made aware of the case against him, Yorgeau took his own life on Tuesday, just five days after the botched raid.
“The person who died was definitely the suspect in a child pornography investigation and the person who committed suicide,” reported New Haven Police Chief Karl Jacobson to the Middletown Press. “It was an open investigation, so he knew he was going to be arrested.”
Though working at a theater at the time of his death, The Blaze reported that Yergeau was previously the Director of Strategic Communications for Planned Parenthood of Southern New England.

That branch of Planned Parenthood is primarily active in Connecticut and Rhode Island, and Yergeau was ostensibly responsible for managing communications for all 15 Planned Parenthood locations in the region.
Following his suicide, local police have opened an internal affairs investigation into the botched child porn raid – and subsequent delay in law enforcement action – that preceded Yergeau’s death.
“They obviously hit the wrong door,” Jacobson told local media, also admitting it was a “mistake.” He added, “We feel for the woman and we’re going to do everything we can to make it right.”

That woman, Stacey Wezenter, recalled the experience of the botched raid.
“I started running down the hallway, it was just like a movie. They had guns and flashlights on me,” Wezenter told the press. “They put me against the wall and handcuffed me”
According to The Blaze, Yergeau was an ardent liberal, and his social media reveals he was devoted to Democratic causes, “including the LGBTQ movement.”
