Musical artist, record producer, and fashion designer Kanye West delivered a poetic epitaph for the Black Lives Matter movement on social media, labeling the left wing project a scam that is now “dead,” only one day after the artist wore a White Lives Matter shirt to a public event.

In a now-expired Instagram post some have likened to haiku, West celebrated the end of the Black Lives Matter movement:

Everyone knows that

Black Lives Matter was a scam

Now it’s over

West’s social media post comes after he inspired a Twitter meltdown after he wore a White Lives Matter shirt during a speech at the YZY SZN 9 event in Paris, France on Monday.

The immediate Internet reaction was fierce. Some said West was guilty of representing white supremacy, while others used racial expletives and threatened physical violence.

West’s attack on Black Lives Matter comes as the movement is embroiled in an internal turmoil, with lawsuits claiming millions of dollars have been stolen and the federal government questioning how money is being spent.

According to one such lawsuit, Black Lives Matter leader Shalomyah Bowers became a “rogue administrator” and a “middle man turned usurper” who ultimately stole millions from the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation.

That organization was founded by Patrice Cullors, the self described Marxist activist who herself garnered controversy when her collection of expensive mansions was exposed.

One such mansion was a $6 million party house for which the nonprofit footed the bill.

The 2020 Black Lives Matter riots saw public opinion shift dramatically against the movement, with Americans turning uniformly against it and its associated groups as rioters burned and looted cities across America.

Recent polling suggests only around half the country supports the Black Lives Matter movement, despite it once receiving near universal support.
