“The View” host Whoopi Goldberg recently defended White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s past Republican victory election denials, claiming that denying election results is your “right, freedom of speech.”
The comments came following the criticism directed towards Jean-Pierre over her effectively branding 2020 election deniers as “extreme” and a “threat to democracy” despite having denied election results herself.
“Let’s also remember that [Karine Jean-Pierre] was part of MoveOn.org, she was not an elected official. She was doing her part as an American citizen, saying how she felt about an election. Whether you like it or not, everybody talks about, everybody has the right, freedom of speech,” Goldberg said. “So that’s the difference.”

During a recent press conference, Jean-Pierre was pressed on her apparent hypocrisy when it comes to criticizing elections.
“So if we’re all in agreement that it is incorrect to say the 2020 election was stolen, what about the 2016 election?” Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked Jean-Pierre during a press conference.
“But just in terms of trying to understand the new attention on the MAGA Republicans, you tweeted –” Doocy said, being interrupted by Jean-Pierre, “‘– Trump stole an election,'” he said of the Press Secretary’s claims following President Trump’s 2016 victory.
“Oh I knew this was coming,” Jean-Pierre said. “I was waiting, Peter, when you were gonna ask me that question.” Doocy noted that Jean-Pierre not only denied that Trump won the election in 2016, but also denied that Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp won against Stacey Abrams in 2018.
“So, let’s be really clear that that comparison that you made is just ridiculous,” she said.

Prior to the strange message broadcast this week, Whoopi was recently in the news for describing TPUSA as Nazis.
She and her colleagues on “The View” were forced to offer multiple on-air corrections – and a formal apology – by the nascent young conservative group after multiple messages from the group’s legal team.
