Frequent cable news guest and current Biden administration medical advisor Anthony Fauci stated this week that “What I symbolize in an era of the normalization of untruths and lies and all the things you’re seeing going on in society” is “consistency,” “integrity” and “truth.”
“It’s called the Fauci effect, which is sort of like a, uh, trust me, I don’t get excited about that, I mean it’s nice but – it’s, it’s, people go to medical school now, people are interested in science not because of me,” an unmasked, laughing Fauci told the masked audience.
“Because people, most people don’t know me, who I am,” he continued. “My friends know me, my wife knows me, but people don’t know me, it’s what I symbolize.”
“What I symbolize in an era of the normalization of untruths and lies and all the things you’re seeing going on in society, from January 6 to everything else that goes on, people are craving for consistency, for integrity, for truth, and for people caring about people,” Fauci declared.

Fauci has not always extolled himself as a symbol of consistency.
He admitted in May that he has “flip-flopped” on COVID policy, but argued that “it’s a good thing” and “the general public doesn’t fully understand that.”
“You’ve basically been accused of flip-flopping on your positions. Can you clarify why some of those nuanced opinions are really important?” Fauci was asked.
“Yeah, what I can say, it’s a good thing,” Fauci insisted. “I have flip-flopped and the reason is because science and the evolution of this outbreak changes.”
“If you are being true to the facts and true to the data, you’re going to have to change,” Fauci continued. “That’s not flip-flopping, that’s getting moving along with the science the way this outbreak is moving along. And it’s understandable how the general public doesn’t fully understand that.”
