A group of around 50 youths stormed a McDonald’s in the English city of Nottingham on Sunday, with a number jumping over the counters to steal food and drink.
The Clumber Street McDonald’s, right in the centre of the East Midlands city, was invaded by at least 50 young people, between the ages of 14 to 16, at around 9PM on Sunday. Around seven members of what appeared to be an organized group stormed the counters, and set to stealing food and drink that had been laid out for orders.
Video of the event was published on social media, firstly TikTok, and then Snapchat and Twitter. Overlaid captions of the video express surprise at the riotous behaviour, with one suggesting that Nottingham was “finished.”
Footage seemingly shows many of the McDonald’s workers continued undisturbed by the youths, but police confirmed that at least 20 members of the gang were threatening and abusive to staff.

According to Nottingham Police, the group had coalesced outside another McDonald’s an hour later, situated about a 3 minute walk away from the first, but they had vacated the area before police arrived.
“We are treating this incident very seriously,” a spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said. “This is a commercial burglary as the group forced their way behind the counter of a business and stole food and soft drinks,” describing the incident as “completely unacceptable.”
No arrests have yet been made by police, who said that they were working closely with the McDonald’s restaurant and are now carrying out “CCTV inquiries to find those responsible.”
A spokesman for McDonald’s said that the riot left them “shocked and appalled,” adding that it has “absolutely no place” in their restaurants. “The incident was reported to the police who attended the restaurant. We will continue to support the police with any further investigations.”
Michelle Dewberry, a primetime presenter on GB News, remarked that the sense of entitlement seen from the youths in the video was “staggering.”
“Imagine going to work, grafting to provide for yourself/family in an honest, decent way and then being subjected to this in your place of work,” she added.

I honestly don’t know who these people think they are. Their sense of entitlement is staggering.pic.twitter.com/LzNGIbb9SR
