White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday appeared to slip up and admit that quadruple-vaccinated Joe Biden is experiencing “lingering” COVID-19 symptoms while he remains in isolation following his second run-in with the virus in less than one month.
White House Physician Kevin O’Connor wrote in a letter that Biden continues to “feel well” after suffering a so-called “rebound case” of COVID shortly after testing negative following his first infection, and omitted any mention of the president dealing with lingering symptoms.

However, During a White House press briefing, Jean-Pierre unspecifically stated “No reoccurring symptoms – meaning like, if you look at [O’Connor’s] original letter, there’s nothing. There’s nothing severe right? Because he feels fine. He feels he feels good.”
“But as we know, all of us have had COVID, we do have a little bit of a lingering cough, a little bit of maybe a lingering sniffle. That’s not uncommon to happen, so that’s what we are talking about,” she said, without being specific about exactly how Biden is doing.

“And there are some, you know, you still have a dry cough, you still have you know a little sniffles that lasts for a little bit longer,” she said. “Many of us have had COVID before and they tend to be lingering symptoms and that’s what I’m talking about.”
“He tends to have a dry cough. That is not unusual,” she added.
Biden caught COVID-19 for the second time this month despite being completely up-to-date on his immunizations having received a whopping four doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The White House doctor described Biden’s illness as a likely “rebound” infection, according to CNN, and noted that doctors have connected to a small number of patients using Pfizer’s new anti-COVID pill, Paxlovid.
