Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene did not mince words with a foreign journalist who claimed that violence in the United States should inspire politicians to severely curtail the Second Amendment.
Greene replied that the British journalist should return to his own country and address its own societal ills before passing judgement on Americans.
“I understand that we don’t have guns in the UK, that is true, but we don’t have mass shooting neither–” said the journalist, only to be interrupted by Greene’s off the cuff comments. “You have mass stabbings lady,” said Greene. “You have all kinds of murder.”

When the journalist claimed that violent crime in the United States outpaces that of the United Kingdom, Greene replied that the journalist should leave the country.
“Well, you can go back to your country then and worry about your no guns,” said Greene. “We like ours here.”
On Twitter Greene added, “When British press wants to argue about our God-given American gun rights, my answer is: ‘go back to your own country.'”
Greene, a vocal supporter of the Second Amendment, has distanced herself from congressional colleagues who are reported to be working with Democrats to create a “bipartisan” gun control bill.
She commented on today’s Supreme Court decision that saw the high court strike down a New York gun control law that required citizens show “proper cause” to use their Second Amendment right to bear arms within the city.
“While Republicans in the Senate are helping Democrats pass gun control, SCOTUS is defending the Second Amendment,” wrote Greene.

Earlier this month Greene appeared on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to discuss her experience surviving after an armed gunman brought three weapons to her gun-free high school in 1990.
“I know exactly how it feels to be a student trapped in a school with a mentally ill person on the loose with a gun,” Greene told Tucker Carlson. “In 1990, in the wake of the Democrat gun-free school zone push, a deranged student brought three guns to my ‘gun-free’ high school.”
“As our classroom was locked down, my classmates and I wondered who would protect us when the only one there with a gun was the person who wanted to kill other students,’ Greene continued. “It was terrifying and we needed protection by someone with a gun to stop the madness.”
