Arizona Republican gubernatorial frontrunner Kari Lake recently made an appearance on Fox News where she decried the “corrupt” and “fraudulent” 2020 election during an interview with host Brett Baier, who attempted to push back on her claims.
Lake has made multiple requests to be interviewed on Fox News and has repeatedly slammed the network for featuring her Republican primary opponent Karrin Taylor Robson, who is currently trailing her by multiple points.
During the interview, the Trump-endorsed conservative firebrand affirmed her confidence that she will win the Republican nomination and noted that “we’re doing really well.” She added, “Our main person that we’re looking out for is the socialist on the Democrat side, Katie Hobbs, that’s who we’re focused on.”
After Lake signaled her support for protecting the unborn in response to the recent SCOTUS ruling which overturned Roe v. Wade, Lake told the Fox News host that the most important issue that Arizona voters care about is election integrity, which she said would have prevented the ongoing crisis at the southern border.
“We’ve got a couple of important issues. We have a wide open border, we have fentanyl pouring in, we have the cartels with operational control, but that wouldn’t be happening if we would have fair and honest elections,” she said.
“We had a fraudulent election, a corrupt election, and we have an illegitimate president sitting in the White House,” referring to Joe Biden. “And because of that, our border is wide open, five and a half tons of fentanyl was confiscated last year, enough to kill over 2 billion people, it’s a weapon of mass destruction.”
“That’s why we’re going to secure that border starting on day one. After I take my hand off the Bible, we are going to issue a declaration of invasion. We’re going to finish President Trump’s wall, and we’re going to our armed National Guard to the border and stop people from coming across,” she said. “When I’m governor, [illegal immigrants are] going back.”

Baier then played a clip of Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers claiming that there was no “evidence” of fraud during the 2020 election, to which Lake responded by calling the official an “absolute RINO,” adding that she hopes he loses his upcoming race.
“Karen Fann even admits there were issues with the election, that it can’t be certified, and here’s what we have — 740,000 ballots that have no chain-of-custody. They cannot be authenticated and they should not have been counted,” Lake said.
“34,000 ballots that were counted two, three, and four times. People who moved who still voted in our election. There’s a mountain of evidence, and I wish that the corporate media would start covering it instead of putting their head in the sand and acting like it didn’t happen. We know what happened here,” Lake said.
Baier continued pushing back against Lake’s assertions, adding that “there have been, as you know, more than 70 court cases where there was not evidence, and there was not any state legislature, or governor, that failed to certify an election, including your own, Republican Doug Ducey.”
“We did not have any court cases where the evidence was presented. We now have evidence that is admissible in a court of law, and I believe the day will come when we have that court case,” Lake said. “We have an AG, Mark Brnovich, who has sat on a mountain of evidence and done nothing, including video evidence.”
Lake added that Arizona voters “know every other issue, from inflation, to the border being wide open, not being able to afford gas and groceries, all stems from this corrupt election.”
After the 2020 election questions, Baier then brought up a Washington Post story that alleged Lake had once supported drag queens and even attended shows. Lake denied the claims and added that “we are pursuing legal action” against the drag queen who made the allegations.
“We tried to serve him defamation papers and he is so shady that we can’t even track him down because he is not even welcomed at the places that he works,” Lake said of the drag queen.
“This is absolutely ludicrous,” she said. “I’m talking about drag shows in schools. This is what triggered this man. Somebody who goes to a drag show with female impersonators is one thing. We don’t want our tax money going into drag shows at school.”
