Breitbart News revealed today that billionaire and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates had poured millions of dollars into a dark money fund to attack Tesla CEO Elon Musk in a bid to stall or stop Musk’s efforts to purchase Twitter.
Apparently Gates, through his foundation, sent millions of dollars to 11 of the 26 organizations that signed an open letter opposing Musk’s plan to purchase Twitter.
The letter was signed by powerful interests concerned that Musk’s status as a free speech absolutist would damage democracy should his purchase of Twitter become final, and the signers called on advertisers to boycott Twitter and starve it of advertising revenue. Since then, the letter has been largely dismissed by Musk’s supporters.

Research exclusively shared with Breitbart News identifies hundreds of millions of dollars flowing from Bill Gates’ foundation to 11 of the 26 organizations that signed an open letter last month urging Twitter advertisers to boycott the company if Elon Musk restores free speech on the platform.
Breitbart News’ report, based on research and analysis from the newly-formed Foundation for Freedom Online (FFO), analyzed public filings to trace hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions from the letter signatories back to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Groups funded by Gates in turn funded a series of left wing, dark money groups that include Media Matters, Black Lives Matter Global Network, and The Media Democracy Fund.
Two of the 11 signatories, Empowering Pacific Islanders Community and Reproaction, “are tied to Gates Foundation money,” Breitbart reported.
The news comes as a public feud between the two billionaires that began when Musk confronted Gates over a $500 million short sale on Tesla stock continues.
It began when text messages were released showing Gates ask Musk to donate to an environmentalist cause. Musk responded by asking about the short sale, and after Gates confirmed he was betting against Tesla’s growth, Musk accused him of being disingenuous for claiming to support environmentalist causes while betting against Tesla.
Musk later escalated the feud further, mocking Gates by comparing him to the pregnant man emoji on Twitter.

Valiant News previously reported that Musk began raising questions about the client list of Jeffrey Epstein, the dead child sex predator, and convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell — whose relationship with Gates has been met with widespread speculation, had even appeared to played a role in the billionaire’s divorce from Melinda Gates.
Musk specifically raised a question about Epstein and Maxwell’s “client” list, appearing to question why none of their affiliates have been named, nor charged, over the widespread sex trafficking.
“Where is their ‘client’ list? Shouldn’t at least one of them go down!?” Musk tweeted.
Musk, who recently said he intends to vote Republican for the first time, is currently facing harsh criticism from Democrats who are desperately attempting to prevent him from purchasing Twitter to restore free speech to the platform.
Gates himself disapproves of Musk’s acquisition of the big tech platform, and recently revealed that he plans to hire 3,000 people as part of a new social media unit to spread “good” vaccine information to counter Musk’s incoming policies.
The embattled Tesla CEO recently stated that he is “out for blood” after asking why Twitter has allowed a 2016 tweet featuring a debunked lie from former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to remain on the platform despite a new revelation revealing that Clinton personally signed off on spreading the fake news in 2016, Valiant News reported.
