Facebook Gaming, part of the Meta network of companies, released a statement revealing that it had taken action against a livestream “which ran counter to the spirit of Black History Month.”
“We have cut ties with the creator,” the company wrote on Twitter, “removing them from our official programs, including access to monetization features, effective today.”
Thank you to everyone who alerted us to a livestream this morning which ran counter to the spirit of Black History Month.
We have cut ties with the creator in question, removing them from our official programs, including access to monetization features, effective today.

It seems that the content produced by this “creator” was so detestable that his name must not be spoken.
However, a man replying to The Quartering on Twitter appears to have identified the man guilty of violating the “spirit of Black History Month.”
On his Facebook live stream, Banfield wrote:
I am now a black man and an African American! I no longer wish to be identified white or Caucasian. For years I have wanted to make this change but I thought I couldn’t because of my current skin color. Today I woke up and realized if a man or a woman can suddenly decide, regardless of their biology, DNA, and past identification, that they wish to change genders, and be fully supported in this transition, then I absolutely can make the same decision for my race. Making this change during Black History Month is especially exciting and I will answer any questions you have on my live stream playing Call of Duty Warzone Solos!

Facebook – now Meta – has become controversial for both conservatives and liberals, who both blame the platform for empowering their political opponents.
Conservatives, who have largely been banned by Facebook, claim that the platform unfairly targets them based on political opinions.
Those on the left instead assert that Facebook has allowed fringe political beliefs to proliferate on the platform due to its alleged failure to adequately stamp out dissident voices.
