Former Republican presidential candidate and anti-Trump activist Nikki Haley has been appointed to a new role at the Hudson Institute, a prominent conservative think tank based in Washington D.C. This announcement comes shortly after Haley withdrew from the GOP primary race earlier this year, following a less than stellar performance.
Haley, who previously served as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations under the Trump administration, has been a prominent figure in Republican politics for several years. In her new role at The Hoover Institute, Haley will focus on international affairs and national security, areas in which she has extensive experience.
In a statement released by the Hudson Institute, the organization expressed their excitement about Haley joining their team. “Nikki is a proven, effective leader on both foreign and domestic policy,” said institute director John P.Walters. “In an era of worldwide political upheaval, she has remained a steadfast defender of freedom and an effective advocate for American security and prosperity. We are honored to have her join the Hudson team.”
Despite her unsuccessful bid for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024, Haley remains a popular figure among establishment insiders, and her appointment to the think tank is seen by many as a positive step forward for the organization. In her own statement, Haley expressed her excitement about joining the Hudson Institute and her eagerness to contribute to the important work being done by the think tank.
“When our policymakers fail to call out our enemies or acknowledge the importance of our alliances, the world is less safe. That is why Hudson’s work is so critical,” Haley said. “They believe the American people should have the facts and policymakers should have the solutions to support a secure, free, and prosperous future. I look forward to partnering with them to defend the principles that make America the greatest country in the world.”
As of press time, Haley has refused to endorse Donald Trump for President in 2024.
