Multiple federal agencies have been impacted by a “global cyberattack” from unknown origins according to reports published this morning that claim the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is providing support to several agencies.
This morning a “global cyberattack” exploited a security vulnerability in software used by multiple federal agencies in the United States and CNN reports that CISA is “providing support to several federal agencies that have experienced intrusions” and is “working urgently to understand impacts and ensure timely remediation.”
Neither the left wing cable outlet nor CISA have commented on the identity or country of origin of the hackers, but CNN seemed to speculate the group behind the event could be “a Russian-speaking ransomware group” known as CLOP, which has wreaked havoc on Western companies, colleges, and universities since May.

Among the believed victims of CLOP are John Hopkins University, Georgia’s statewide university system, the BBC, British Airways, Shell oil, and state governments in Minnesota and Illinois, the outlet reported.
Those organizations were apparently left vulnerable by a security flaw in MOVEit, a file transfer platform, that began to be exploited by hackers in May. Other hacking groups now reportedly have access to the software used to exploit the flaw, and the company behind MOVEit has urged customers to update their software.
Meanwhile, Proactive Investors reported yesterday that collection of hacker groups have reportedly “formed an alliance” to launch concentrated cyberattacks on the Western financial system this week. This conglomeration of hackers include Killnet and REvil, both operating from Russia, and Anonymous Sudan.
‼️🇷🇺🇪🇺 Three hacker groups (Killnet, REvil and Anonymous Sudan) from Russia have promised to carry out the largest cyberattack in the history of the banking sector in Europe under the slogan "No money, no war".

This new alliance is reportedly targeting the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) wire transfer system in a push to force Western countries to end their funding for Ukraine, offering the slogan “no money – no weapons – no Kiev regime.” It is also reportedly targeting banks in the United States and Europe.
The groups of hackers have promised to launch some sort of cyberattack on SWIFT this week, on either Friday or Saturday, though skeptics remain unconvinced the hacker alliance will be capable of dealing serious damage to the Western financial system.
