President Joe Biden has declared that he chooses not to “take any of the blame for inflation,” claiming “ it was already there when I got here, man.”

Biden made the remarks on Friday during a “Jobs For Americans” press conference.

“Do I take any blame for inflation? No,” Biden snapped when asked.

“Why not,” the reporter who asked the original question queried.

Biden replied, “Because it was already here when I got here, man. Remember what the economy was like when I got here? Jobs were hemorrhaging, inflation was rising. We weren’t manufacturing a damn thing here. We were in real economic difficulty. That’s why I don’t, thank you.”

The inflation rate was at 1.4% when Biden took office, and had held at 1.5% in each of the last 10 months leading up to his inauguration.

Within months of Biden taking office, the inflation rate spiked above 5% in May 2021 and would eventually reach 9.1% in June 2022 – a figure not seen in over 40 years.

The most recent available data, from December 2022, shows that the national inflation rate was 6.5% as of just over a month ago.

Based on the data at hand, Valiant News rates Biden’s claim that the current inflation levels were “already there when I got here, man” as FALSE.

During a recent public appearance, Biden, 80, relayed an anecdote about a gaffe he made in public that led people to question his mental competence.

“I uh, I said that, uh, when I was seeking the nomination I said, ‘Take a seat, everybody!’ and there wasn’t a single chair in the place,” the president recounted.

Biden continued, “They said, ‘That Biden really is stupid, he really doesn’t know a…’” before trailing off and looking for a Congressman whose  firstname he apparently misremembered.
