Former National Security Advisor John Bolton is prepared to run for president as a Republican in 2024, citing his dislike of former President Donald Trump as the sole impetus for a potential campaign.
“We’ve got perhaps a dozen or more potential presidential candidates looking to 2024,” Bolton stated on NBC’s “Meet the Press NOW. ”I think every one of them, before they declare their candidacy, should say, ‘Donald Trump was wrong. We repudiate him. He doesn’t belong in the Republican Party.’”
“And, honestly, if they don’t, there’s one thing that would get me to get into the presidential race, which I looked at in previous elections,” Bolton added. “It would be to make it clear to the people of this country that Donald Trump is unacceptable as the Republican nominee.”
When you challenge the Constitution itself, that is un-American. If the current GOP presidential candidates don't repudiate Trump, I'm prepared to get in the race. pic.twitter.com/mKnU2tDhyc

Bolton then declared that he wanted to see “Shermanesque statements” from all Republican potential candidates denouncing and attacking Trump.
“If I don’t see that, I’m going to seriously consider getting in,” Bolton said. “We’ve already got one declared candidate in the Republican Party who doesn’t believe in the Constitution.”
“This is serious business,” the mustachioed former Trump administration official insisted.
Bolton was castigated by Fox News host Tucker Carlson as a “snake” in 2020.
“Donald Trump used to recite a poem about a woman who took a dying snake into her house and nursed it back to health,” Carlson said. “The snake did become healthy and then immediately whipped around and bit the woman.”
“As she breathed her last breath, the woman asked the snake, ‘Why did you do this?’ ‘Well, because I’m a snake,’ was the reply. “That’s what we do.”

“All of which somehow reminds us of disgraced former National Security Adviser John Bolton,” Carlson continued. “Republicans in Washington might seem shocked to discover that Bolton has turned and betrayed his former boss, Donald Trump, but they shouldn’t be shocked. That’s who John Bolton is. That’s who John Bolton has always been. That’s what John Bolton does. And not to brag, but we called it long ago.”
