Biden Calls Republicans ‘Socialists’ For Living Under Bill Dems Forced On Them

Republicans respond after Biden mocked them for failing to stop a “socialist” spending bill

Joe Biden has attacked Representatives Paul Gosar and Andy Barr, and Senator Rand Paul, for being pro-infrastructure, calling them “socialists.”

Speaking on Friday, Biden cited a report from CNN that noted that many Republicans who had voted against the latest infrastructure package, which some had labelled as being tantamount to “socialism,” had still requested the federal government spend money on infrastructure programs in their state authorised by the legislation.

Those Republicans included Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona, Rep. Andy Barr of Kentucky, and Sen. Rand Paul, also of Kentucky.

“I didn’t know there were that many socialist Republicans,” he said. “Folks, look, you can’t make this stuff up. You gotta say, and I gotta say, I was surprised to see so many socialists in the Republican caucus,” Biden added.

Biden neglected to note that each of the Republicans issued statements explaining that, while the infrastructure bill provided for typical funding – roads and bridges – they opposed the Democrat bill’s giveaways for “green” Democrat pet projects the White House claims will “advance environmental justice.”

Gosar’s spokesman told CNN that “20% of the funding [in the bill] is horrifically absurd,” and so he was not obliged to vote for it, but that “once appropriated and authorized, Congressman Gosar is free, and quite willing, to fight for the funding authorized to benefit good projects.”

“Opposition to a spending bill does not always mean opposition to the goal of that spending; opposition to a spending bill can mean opposition to spending that adds to the deficit and is not offset with spending cuts elsewhere,” Sen. Paul’s spokesman argued.

Gosar further attacked Biden in a series of tweets, noting that he wears his “attacks” as a “badge of honor,” arguing rightly that “the Constitution directs the federal government to ensure interstate commerce and infrastructure,” but not the other projects included in the bill.

“I have a career record of supporting infrastructure under Obama, Trump and Biden,” Gosar said. “On some bills I vote no, not because of the infrastructure, but because Pelosi and the radical left includes crap like climate change and other nonsense. But I’m all in on infrastructure.”

As Valiant News reported, Biden committed another trademark gaffe during the same speech, when he declared that he would begin his speech by uttering “two words.” Those “two” words turned out to be “Made in America.”

Gosar was quick to note that the “intern who runs [Biden’s Twitter] account” had not yet posted the clip of him confusing the number two for three.
