Sean Hannity Endorses Nuclear War With Russia, Says U.S. Shouldn’t Fear ‘Mutually Assured Destruction’

“If Vladimir Putin wanted to negotiate, he would have done it a long time ago,” Hannity said. “He’s not willing to, and if he wants to use chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons, he’s got to know that his entire country is going to get blown off the face of the Earth.”

Neocon Fox News anchor Sean Hannity last night said that the United States should be willing to start a possibly apocalyptic nuclear war with Russia if they use weapons of mass destruction in Ukraine.

Speaking to former Congresswoman (D-HI) and 2020 Democratic Presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard, Hannity said that America should use nuclear weapons to blow Russia “off the face of the earth” should they use unconventional means to wage war in a foreign country that sits thousands of miles away from continental U.S.

“If Vladimir Putin wanted to negotiate, he would have done it a long time ago,” Hannity said. “He’s not willing to, and if he wants to use chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons, he’s got to know that his entire country is going to get blown off the face of the Earth.”

Hannity added that America should not “cower in fear” over the prospect of “Mutually Assured Destruction” (M.A.D.) —  the foreign policy doctrine that highlights how a full-scale nuclear attack by two or more opposing countries would cause the complete destruction of both the attacking and the defending nations.

“I pray to God we never get to that point, but it’s always been a threat,” Hannity said. “And it remains a threat here, and we can’t cower in fear based on fact that we’ve had Mutually Assured Destruction pretty much for all our lifetime.”

This comes as several prominent members of the Republican Party, including the controversial Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw, are insisting that escalating the foreign conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with further direct U.S. intervention through providing additional missile and air defense systems, armed drones, and Polish MiG fighters will “stop the bloodshed” in the region that sits nearly 6,000 miles away from America, Valiant News reported.

The idea of dramatically escalating the Ukrainian conflict with direct U.S. involvement has been pushed by various anti-Trump Republicans, including Sens. Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Susan Collins, and Reps. Kevin McCarthy, Liz Cheney, and former Rep. Adam Kinzinger as the party attempts to “out-hawk” the Democrats.

As recently as last month, Hannity purported himself to be a supporter of 45th President Donald Trump’s “America First” foreign policy stance.

However, today it appears that the pro-war Fox News host is falling directly in line with the establishment Republicans that have now prioritized escalating conflict with Russia — instead of confronting the Biden administration’s varying domestic blunders, such as record inflation, rising prices, potential food shortages, surging crime rates, and an increasingly porous U.S.  southern border.

He’s not wrong: Depending on the winds, should Putin use chemical or tactical nuclear weapons in western Ukraine, there may be fallout in an adjacent NATO country ( Poland, Slovakia, Hungary or Romania ). Which would trigger an Article 5 response.

Better to remind Putin ahead of any such implementation the automatic consequences, then to sit there and argue it in committee after such an event.

I stopped listening to him after the election was stolen. He really is annoying thinking about all times I listened to him “peeling back the layers of the onion” to realize NO ONE is ever going to jail for all the fraud committed. He is a ratings junkie.

Hannity is falling into insanity as fast as his falling ratings. Is this moron not aware that Russia has 13000 NUKES pointed at America and its allies? He sounds like Buck Turgidson in Strangelove and he was an obvious unhingd war monger. Luckily nobody cares what he says now, let alone think.

B.S. Hannity did not favor conflict with Russia but brought the scenario if they used weapons of mass destruction which may trigger an appropriate reaction from NATO who cannot be cowed into inaction by Putin’s threats. Frankly, his personal location and those of his family should be monitored. Maybe move his mistress and their four children from Switzerland to a secret location as leverage.

beafrank – You are 100% correct.

Also, like our system, Putin can not himself launch. There are procedures there like ours that require multiple steps and authorizations. Unless Zhirinovsky was promoted in the last 2 minutes, guessing that no #2 will authorize that for a regional threat.

Especially not the current #2 Mishustin: He was the head of a global investment fund and later on head of the Russian Federal Tax Service. He is no ultra-nationalist nor has any military background.

They didn’t do it in Afghanistan, they won’t now.

Hannity has proven himself to be a fraud and a phony. He is clueless he has become an establishment republican who supports RINOs. The only one worth a damn on Fox is Tucker Carlson. I wouldn’t watch Fox any other time.

Actually, Hannity never has appeared to be very “intelligent” . . . even though he’s always been on the correct political side and on the correct side of most issues. But most politics isn’t about being intelligent anyway–it’s just plain common sense and knowing right from wrong–although the arrogant, evil Dems try to convince the unwitting that their “intelligence” makes them deserve to be in power.

In this case, no, absolutely no nuking of Russia. What a ridiculous thing to suggest. The U.S. should be using this incursion into Ukraine as a signal that it is OK to go into Mexico and wipe out the drug-makers and marketers. Every country has to be aware of and able to deal with threats close by its own borders.

Mr. Hannity has simply re-stated what has been the long-term policy and position of the United States. That position calls for retaliation if Russia uses any of its Nuclear, Biological–illegal, or Chemical–also illegal, weapons. You who accuse Hannity of being a warmonger are wrong. What you are displaying is cowardice. You would have us cower before any tyrant that possesses any NBC weapons and capitulate to their demands. You sound exactly like the “peace at any price” and “better red than dead” crowd from a couple of decades ago. History is replete with examples of what happens if you capitulate to tyrants.
