Neocon Fox News anchor Sean Hannity last night said that the United States should be willing to start a possibly apocalyptic nuclear war with Russia if they use weapons of mass destruction in Ukraine.
Speaking to former Congresswoman (D-HI) and 2020 Democratic Presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard, Hannity said that America should use nuclear weapons to blow Russia “off the face of the earth” should they use unconventional means to wage war in a foreign country that sits thousands of miles away from continental U.S.
“If Vladimir Putin wanted to negotiate, he would have done it a long time ago,” Hannity said. “He’s not willing to, and if he wants to use chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons, he’s got to know that his entire country is going to get blown off the face of the Earth.”
Hannity added that America should not “cower in fear” over the prospect of “Mutually Assured Destruction” (M.A.D.) — the foreign policy doctrine that highlights how a full-scale nuclear attack by two or more opposing countries would cause the complete destruction of both the attacking and the defending nations.
“I pray to God we never get to that point, but it’s always been a threat,” Hannity said. “And it remains a threat here, and we can’t cower in fear based on fact that we’ve had Mutually Assured Destruction pretty much for all our lifetime.”

This comes as several prominent members of the Republican Party, including the controversial Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw, are insisting that escalating the foreign conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with further direct U.S. intervention through providing additional missile and air defense systems, armed drones, and Polish MiG fighters will “stop the bloodshed” in the region that sits nearly 6,000 miles away from America, Valiant News reported.
The idea of dramatically escalating the Ukrainian conflict with direct U.S. involvement has been pushed by various anti-Trump Republicans, including Sens. Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Susan Collins, and Reps. Kevin McCarthy, Liz Cheney, and former Rep. Adam Kinzinger as the party attempts to “out-hawk” the Democrats.
As recently as last month, Hannity purported himself to be a supporter of 45th President Donald Trump’s “America First” foreign policy stance.
However, today it appears that the pro-war Fox News host is falling directly in line with the establishment Republicans that have now prioritized escalating conflict with Russia — instead of confronting the Biden administration’s varying domestic blunders, such as record inflation, rising prices, potential food shortages, surging crime rates, and an increasingly porous U.S. southern border.
